Nawa Ibã — the singer who calls the vision

Lore studied for over five years at the University of Sydney, including Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology, Social Work and Modern European History. He went on to a 21-year career across three states and the Northern Territory of Australia in counselling, group therapy, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, community development, arts-based health education, youth development, and Indigenous health and community development. As a specialist in youth work and drug and alcohol rehabilitation, he has spent decades working within complex social frameworks, implementing trauma-informed care and supporting people in recovery. He also worked in Brazil as an ecological and community development consultant in Brasília from 2009 to 2010.

Lore has travelled extensively and has been trained in traditional spiritual and healing practices. He spent five years living in Brazil studying music and culture, including a full-time apprenticeship under master musician Carioca Freitas at Ciranda, and immersive cultural exchange with the Huni Kuin and Yawanawá peoples, who gave him the name Nawa Ibã — the singer who calls the vision. He is a dedicated student and practitioner of the Brazilian syncretic traditions of Umbanda and Ciranda. He has developed an integrative approach to therapy, weaving spiritual awareness and healing, personal empowerment, ancestral healing and the soul’s journey, with an emphasis on creative arts and expression as connection to earth, community and spirit.

Raised in Sydney, Lore carries a profound responsibility to Country, deepened through years working alongside Aboriginal custodians in remote communities. Under the guidance of respected Elders he learned the practice of dadirri — deep listening — and has integrated the Dreaming of the land into his own spiritual practice. He speaks of Country not as a place to live, but as a living presence that lives within us.

Lore is a visionary artist and musician who has collaborated with artists around the world, including extensive creative projects with Indigenous communities in central Australia and the Brazilian Amazon. He began painting his visions after studying with the Peruvian artist Pablo Amaringo, and has since produced a body of visionary art that stands as its own library of knowledge. His music — including the albums Irradia and We Are – Estrela da Ciranda — works as a kind of vibrational technology, intended to harmonise the soul. His first book, Way of the Hummingbird, is a chronicle of his healing and spiritual studies.

Lore is passionate about supporting people to heal and to thrive. He believes each person has the ability to overcome trauma while uncovering inner resources and strength, through identifying their life’s story and writing new personal narratives. His work draws on inner child therapy, somatic experience, emotional release practices, spiritual and ancestral healing, and lifestyle and nutrition guidance. He has a close relationship to nature and extensive experience guiding others to reconnect with themselves and with the natural world.
